Brentford’s DR Congo striker Yohan Wissa scored once in a draw at Manchester City to break Ivan Toney’s Premier League scoring record.

Wissa’s equaliser gave Brentford a 2-2 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium on Tuesday, his 11th Premier League goal of the season and 12th in all competitions.

Wissa’s latest goal was also his 37th in the Premier League in 120 games in four seasons, overtaking Toney’s previous record of 36 goals to สมัครสมาชิก UFABET วันนี้ รับเครดิตฟรีทุกวัน become Brentford’s all-time Premier League goalscorer.

Manchester City, the English champions in each of the past four seasons, held a two-goal lead with 82 minutes on the clock, only for the Bees to produce a superb fightback to snatch a 2-2 draw.

Captain Christian Norgaard’s powerful header provided a dramatic finale, but Brentford’s first goal secured a moment of club history.

Wissa had space to shoot home from six yards out as he grabbed his 37th goal for the club in the top flight and moved above Ivan Toney as the Bees top scorer in the Premier League.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank called the achievement “extremely impressive” for a player that cost only £8.5m when he joined the Bees from French club Lorient in August 2021.

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank said of Wissa’s record-breaking performance: “I think it’s very impressive. I’m delight for Wissa. He’s done very well for us, having to replace Ivan.”

“Not just him, but Brian (Mbeumo) too. The combination between them is unique. We are Brentford, I am very proud.

“For Wissa, who joined Brentford from Lorient in the summer of 2021 for just £8.5m, he has scored 41 goals in 132 games in all competitions so far.
